LAUGFS Gas recently had the honour of hosting David Tyler, Director of the World LPG Association (WLGA), for an exclusive industry dialogue during his visit to Sri Lanka. His visit underscored LAUGFS Gas’ pivotal role in shaping the local LPG sector while aligning with global industry trends. Delivering a keynote address at LAUGFS Gas headquarters, Tyler shared key insights into the LPG market, noting that over 360 million metric tons of LPG were produced globally last year, with North America and the Middle East leading production. He highlighted Asia Pacific’s dominant consumption and its steady market growth of 3%-4% annually. Stressing LPG’s versatility, he advocated for transitioning nearly two billion people worldwide from traditional fuels like wood and kerosene, a challenge still evident in Sri Lanka.
