Many countries across the world have started the inevitable shift towards renewable energy. Some are leading the way in grasping the many opportunities in this area and are securing their countries’ energy future. Here’s a quick look at how they are shifting towards new energy frontiers.
Many cities, such as Basel in Switzerland, Reykjavik in Iceland as well as Burlington in the US, are already producing 100% of their electricity from renewable energy.

Denmark is increasingly investing in renewable energy and gaining significant momentum in especially wind power generation. Contribution of wind power for electricity generation has more than doubled over the past 10 years.

China leads the world in solar power and contributed to 54% of the global solar PV capacity expansions in 2017. It is also building the world’s first ‘Forest City’ in Guangxi, which is due to be completed in 2020.
