LAUGFS Gas reaffirmed its commitment to empowering future generations through the Future Specialists Project, an initiative designed to educate and inspire children through practical, hands-on learning experiences. Recognising the growing disconnect between children and essential life skills, the programme focused on promoting healthier, safer, and more independent lifestyles through education.
The single-day initiative was conducted at Udahamulla Siddhartha Maha Vidyalaya and centred on cooking, nutrition, and safety as tools for experiential learning. A live cooking demonstration by renowned Chef Dilrukshan Dabare introduced students to safe food preparation practices, balanced nutrition, and healthy meal choices. The interactive session encouraged active participation, helping students build confidence while gaining practical skills applicable to daily life.
Following the demonstration, students and teachers shared a freshly prepared meal, reinforcing nourishment and community togetherness, while an LPG safety session by the LAUGFS Gas team educated students on safe household usage and responsible energy practices.
The Future Specialists Project reflects LAUGFS Gas’s broader CSR vision focused on community upliftment, family wellbeing, and sustainable social development. While a single-day initiative, it represents a meaningful step towards creating long-term positive impact by nurturing informed, confident, and capable young minds; the future of Sri Lanka.
